Effect of oxidation time on the structure and properties of Ti–25Nb–3Zr–2Sn–3Mo titanium alloy microarc oxide film layer

In order to improve various properties of medical titanium alloys, Ti–3Zr–2Sn–3Mo–25Nb alloy specimens were subjected microarc oxidation (BMAO) in 0.1 mol/l sodium tetraborate electrolyte cover the substrate with a micro-nano double-graded structured coating. The effect time on microstructure, physical phase, hardness, corrosion resistance, and wettability film layer was investigated. results show that microporous size increases increase time, hardness BMAO time; resistance is better than substrate, self-corrosion potential largest at 14 min reaching −0.1349 V, which 65% higher current lowest, 1.1376 × 10−9 A cm−2, one magnitude lower substrate; exhibits superhydrophilicity, then decreases contact angle smallest 6 4.4°, 73.75°.
